Why Pilates?

Pilates is for everyone – It can be adapted for people of all ages, all fitness levels, and life stages, from beginners and older adults, sporty or not, making it a safe and effective exercise method for strength, mobility, and rehabilitation.

It strengthens the whole body – Pilates works muscles in all directions, improves spinal health, posture, balance, and circulation, while also supporting injury prevention, sports performance, and overall functional daily movement.

It boosts well-being inside and out – By encouraging mindful movement, breathwork, and alignment, Pilates reduces stress, improves body awareness, stimulates lymphatic flow, and leaves you feeling both energised and relaxed.

Other Fitness Classes through Fit Foundation ...

Not everyone feels comfortable joining a gym or working out in a heavy machinery environment.

There might be many questions for somebody who's just beginning...
"What if I don't want to look 'muscley'?"
"What's the difference between sets and reps?"
"How much weight should I start with?"
"Do I have to lift weights? Can I do cardio and body-weight exercise?"

That's where I can bring fitness to your requirements and style.
Small Group Classes of like-minded individuals, or bringing me on-board as personal trainer can provide a more welcoming and personalized experience by creating a setting that's appealing! Whether it's in the comfort of my studio or your own home.

My approach allows you to focus on your fitness goals without the pressure of a crowded gym, making it easier to enjoy your workouts and stay motivated.

Personal Training 1-to-1 (Pilates or general PT)
At our first meeting, we'll establish where you currently are with your health and fitness, through a consultation, some health measurements, and current strength level.

We'll look at your goals - short, medium and long term.
We'll work with a SMART plan, so these goals are - Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound.
We'll decide on a plan together, taking into account all factors of your lifestyle - around work, family, hobbies, sleep, diet and the time you can set aside to achieve your goals.
When there are bumps in the road, that's fine, life happens! We can get back on track.

Pairs Training (Pilates or general PT)
With a consultation for both of you, we can begin a training plan for you to workout together each time.
This can feel more fun with your buddy alongside you, and brings in a little competition!
There's a great team spirit added and also gives accountability! Challenge each other.

We can plan our sessions at my Studio space at Mill Yard in Penryn, at a bigger studio in Falmouth that has a full range gym kit and resistance machines, or in your own home.
Exercise in Menopause
During the menopausal change - women are at greater risk for certain health conditions associated with oestrogen deficiency including Osteoporosis, weight gain, muscle mass loss and Heart Disease.
Prioritising preventative healthcare is essential, and within easy reach!
Lifestyle modifications, including support from your GP and/or specialists are recommended, as hormone levels
fluctuate, lower and stabilise.
Bringing strength and conditioning, as part of your lifestyle adjustments will be satisfying and beneficial!
